DTN COMMENTS:  All remains quiet in cash cattle country this afternoon 
with bids and asking prices still not established. Significant trade 
volume will likely be delayed until Wednesday or more likely later in the 
week.

Today's slaughter totaled 121,000 head, 5,000 more than last week, but 
7,000 less than a year ago. Cattle futures closed mixed, mostly modestly 
lower on both live (off 125 to up 10) and feeder (off 22 to up 92) 
contracts. Beef cutouts are expected to close mixed with moderate to good 
box movement.
